What is Cryomation
The harsh reality of the traditional Cremation process
In the UK there is an average of 600,000 deaths per year. Approximately 75% of which are dealt with using traditional cremation techniques. With the average cremation resulting in 160kg of carbon dioxide being released this means that 72,000 metric tons of CO2 are being released into the UK atmosphere every year.

On a global basis, with the average annual death count of 57,000,000. If we were to use the same calculations this would lead to 6,840,000 metric tons of CO2 being released into our atmosphere every year.
The simple facts
Here is an example of what traditional cremation puts back into our atmosphere:

  • 160kg of CO2 per body
  • Mercury
(30% of ALL global Mercury emissions can be attributed to cremation)
  • Nitrogen Oxides
  • Carbon Monoxide
  • Sulphur Dioxide
  • Hydrofluric Acid
  • Hydrochloric Acid
  • NMVOC’s
    Non Methene Volatile Organic Compounds
Benzene, Ethanol, Formaldehyde, Cycloexane, Acetone, Dioxins
